Meeting-in-a-Box (MTBX): Asthma Management at Schools

A complete script provides information about what asthma is and the issues important at school, including asthma emergencies at school, PE/exercise-induced asthma, and information about asthma medications and the tools of asthma management. This ready-to-go kit includes slides, a presenter’s script, reproducible handouts, and demonstration items.
This program can be conducted as an overview in 20 minutes or as a complete presentation for 45 minutes. This may be presented formally in a staff meeting or informally during after school hours. School nurses may opt to present this program themselves or can request a speaker from AAFA Alaska Chapter to present the program. The school nurse will then just need to help coordinate the presentation time with the school’s principal.
The Meeting In a Box is a stand alone project.
