PENINSULA PUFFERS ASTHMA CAMP
"in the woods with wheezers"
A Camp for Kids with Asthma
ABOUT CAMP
No Asthma Camp in 2026
Asthma Camp is an integral part of the mission of AAFA Alaska. We have however decided to take a 1 year break from camp with the program returning in summer 2027.
We have run camp for over 15 years with a recurring medical team. These dedicated pediatric professionals are now in need of a younger generation of pediatricians to come on board and work towards becoming the camp leads. We will spend the next 16 months finding the best pediatric providers to come on board, learn the ropes and lead Peninsula Puffers in to the future.
Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you in 2027.
Peninsula Puffers is a one week summer camp program held in conjunction with Camp Fire Alaska. Held in Cooper Landing Alaska, children ages 8 -14 with asthma and food allergies spend the week enjoying camp activities while learning about their asthma & allergies in daily lessons with our medical staff. Educational topics include pathophysiology, management, usage of asthma & allergy tools, medications awareness and self awareness. Campers participate in a total of 1 ½ hours of education per camp day. Peninsula Puffers has medical staff on site 24 hours a day for the duration of camp.
